What Seychelles Tour Packages Include

Seychelles tour packages are planned itineraries covering inter-island ferries, hotel nights, airport transfers and selected excursions across Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. They are route frameworks you personalise with Tripstor, not fixed group departures, and only the inclusions listed in your written quotation are confirmed.

A workable seychelles holiday package sequences islands before hotels are booked, because ferry timings and check-in windows decide whether you sleep on Mahé or reach Praslin the same evening. Land-only pricing is the norm for seychelles trip packages from India, with international airfare quoted separately from each Indian gateway.

Treat every itinerary on this page as a starting structure. Your final inclusions, meal plans, ferry class and excursion list are confirmed in writing by Tripstor before payment. The six components below represent the typical scope of a package; optional upgrades such as private-pool villas, premium ferry seats and half-board meal plans are added at quotation stage.

  • Route framework across Mahé, Praslin and La Digue
  • Inter-island ferry or domestic flight sectors between islands
  • Hotel nights with the meal plan you select
  • Airport and jetty transfers on arrival and departure
  • Optional excursions such as Curieuse tortoise trip or Vallée de Mai walk
  • International airfare quoted separately from Indian gateways
The basics

Seychelles Holiday Packages at a Glance

Seychelles suits a 5–7 day first trip covering Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, with April–May and October–November giving calmer seas and better inter-island conditions. Indians do not need a visa but must hold a Seychelles Electronic Travel Authorisation before departure, plus confirmed accommodation and onward tickets.

Indicative land-only budgets for 2026 run from about INR 85,000 per person for budget guesthouse travel to INR 2,20,000 or more for premium stays, twin sharing and excluding international airfare. Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on Mahé is the sole international entry gateway. The Seychellois rupee (SCR) is the local currency, though major hotels and tourism businesses commonly accept cards. Seychelles sits at UTC+4, which is behind India Standard Time, and the archipelago spans 115 islands in the Western Indian Ocean.

Why go

Why Choose Seychelles for an Island Holiday

Seychelles gives Indian travellers inhabited islands with roads, rainforest hikes and granite coves rather than a single resort atoll. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue each behave differently, so a week here mixes beach time with driving, walking and wildlife rather than repeating one shoreline.

  1. Mahé: rainforest, highlands and gateway logistics

Mahé carries Seychelles International Airport, the capital Victoria and the Morne Seychellois highlands. Altitude reaches 905 m, giving cloud-forest trails and viewpoints within a short drive of the coast. It doubles as arrival base and hiking ground, making it the natural first and last night of any itinerary.

    Region
  2. Praslin: Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio

Praslin holds the UNESCO-listed Vallée de Mai palm forest and Anse Lazio, one of the most photographed beaches in the archipelago. It is the natural second stop after Mahé and the launch point for Curieuse day excursions. Book the Vallée de Mai walk and Curieuse boat early during peak periods.

    Region
  3. La Digue: bicycle-paced granite beaches

La Digue is small enough to cross by bicycle, with granite boulder beaches and quiet lanes. Reserve bicycles before arrival during April–May, October–November and school-holiday periods, when demand on the island rises sharply.

    Region
  4. Curieuse: free-roaming giant tortoises

Curieuse is reachable as a day excursion from Praslin and is known for its free-roaming giant tortoise population. Book the excursion alongside your ferry seats rather than on arrival, since peak-season slots fill quickly.

    Wildlife
  5. Flexible stays: beachfront to hillside guesthouse

Beachfront resorts and private-pool villas command the highest rates, while guesthouses and self-catering units on Mahé and Praslin cut daily costs considerably. A 4-star stay near the coast with a pool is a practical middle position for families and couples on standard seychelles holiday packages.

    Accommodation
  6. Inter-island travel as part of the experience

Scheduled catamarans link Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, with domestic flights and helicopters on selected routes. Ferry crossings can be uncomfortable in rough seas, so build buffer time around jetty transfers rather than scheduling same-day tight connections between islands.

    Logistics

The archipelago holds 115 islands, and the practical first-trip trio is Mahé for the gateway and Morne Seychellois trails, Praslin for Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio, and La Digue for bicycle roads and granite formations. Curieuse works as a day excursion from Praslin for its free-roaming tortoise population. Budget depends heavily on island count and ferry class: adding a fourth island raises transfer costs and eats into beach hours, so most 5–7 day seychelles vacation packages stay with three islands.

Indians do not need a visa, but every traveller must obtain the Seychelles Electronic Travel Authorisation through the official Seychelles Electronic Border System before departure, and carry a passport valid for the stay, confirmed accommodation, a return or onward ticket and sufficient funds. A visitor permit is issued on arrival when entry conditions are met; requirements and fees can change, so verify the official immigration portal before travel.

From SEZ, metered taxis, rental cars, public buses and private transfers cover Mahé. Short taxi rides commonly cost SCR 300–800, bus-oriented local travel about SCR 500–1,200 per day, and a small rental car SCR 1,000–2,500 per day. The Mahé–Praslin catamaran costs roughly SCR 900–1,500 one way, subject to operator and booking date. Catamarans link Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, while domestic flights and helicopters serve selected routes. Reserve peak-season ferry seats before confirming hotels.

Seychelles or Maldives? An Honest Comparison

Seychelles suits travellers who want inhabited islands, roads, hiking and wildlife alongside beaches. Maldives suits those who want one resort and minimal transfers. Seychelles is usually more expensive than a resort-only beach holiday, and inter-island ferries can be uncomfortable in rough seas — both are concrete tradeoffs worth weighing before booking seychelles vacation packages.

Seychelles

Best forCouples and families wanting beaches plus hiking, island drives and wildlife across multiple inhabited islands

StrengthsMulti-island exploration, granite landscapes, endemic wildlife, rainforest hikes and independent island-road experiences; Vallée de Mai and Curieuse are unique draws

Trade-offsUsually more expensive than a resort-only beach holiday; inter-island logistics need planning and ferry crossings can be rough in certain seasons

Maldives

Best forCouples prioritising one-resort privacy, overwater villas and water activities with minimal inter-island travel

StrengthsSimpler single-resort stay; can be cheaper for comparable mid-range beach packages when speedboat transfers are optimised

Trade-offsLess road-based exploration and fewer inhabited-island or wildlife experiences; limited hiking

Mauritius

Best forFamilies wanting a drivable island with varied inland sightseeing and a road network

StrengthsRoad network and inland attractions make independent days easy; good range of accommodation tiers

Trade-offsBeach and granite scenery differ from the Seychelles multi-island archipelago experience

Zanzibar

Best forValue-focused beach travellers open to a shorter Indian Ocean hop with competitive pricing

StrengthsCompetitive pricing for beach stays; direct or short-connection flights from some Indian cities

Trade-offsDifferent marine and cultural mix; not an island-hopping equivalent to seychelles holiday packages

Réunion

Best forActive travellers prioritising volcanic terrain, long hikes and dramatic interior landscapes

StrengthsStrong hiking infrastructure and dramatic volcanic interior; distinct from any other Indian Ocean destination

Trade-offsBeach time is secondary to mountain itineraries; less suited to a pure beach-and-snorkel holiday

Compared with Maldives, Seychelles offers larger inhabited islands, roads, hiking and more varied landscapes; Maldives is generally simpler for a single-resort stay and can be cheaper for comparable mid-range beach packages when transfers are optimised. Mauritius and Réunion sit closer to the Seychelles model of drivable islands with inland sightseeing, while Zanzibar competes on price for Indian travellers seeking a shorter Indian Ocean hop.

Before you travel

Five Seychelles Tips for Indian Travellers

Indian travellers to Seychelles should carry cards alongside some Seychellois rupees, expect limited Indian dining outside Mahé, and treat the Electronic Travel Authorisation as mandatory even though no visa is needed. Ferry buffers, luggage rules and jetty transfer times cause most avoidable problems on seychelles trip packages from India.

  1. Money: cards plus a small rupee float

The local currency is the Seychellois rupee (SCR), and major hotels and tourism businesses commonly accept cards and some foreign currencies. Carry SCR for buses, small cafes and market purchases in Victoria, where card terminals are less consistent. Exchange rates fluctuate around INR 6.5–7.0 per SCR; check rates before departure.

    Money
  2. Connectivity: arrange data before island-hopping

Mobile coverage is strongest on Mahé and weaker on smaller islands. Arrange an Indian roaming pack or a local SIM before leaving SEZ. Download ferry timetables and offline maps before you travel between Praslin and La Digue, where connectivity can drop.

    Connectivity
  3. Etiquette: beachwear stays at the beach

Seychelles is a Creole society with English and French widely spoken in tourism. Cover up away from the beach and in Victoria. Ask before photographing people, and respect local fishing and village areas on La Digue, where residents use the same lanes as tourists.

    Etiquette
  4. Logistics: build ferry and jetty buffers

Hotel-to-jetty transfers take longer than maps suggest, and luggage rules apply on catamarans. Keep a wide buffer before international departures from SEZ and avoid same-day tight connections between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Packing light reduces handling stress at jetties.

    Logistics
  5. Entry and safety: authorisation before departure, conditions on arrival

Complete the Seychelles Electronic Travel Authorisation through the official Seychelles Electronic Border System before departure and carry confirmed accommodation, a return or onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. Requirements and fees can change; verify the official immigration portal before travel. Sea conditions vary by season and can affect ferry comfort and snorkelling access.

    Entry

Sequence islands before confirming hotels, because ferry schedules and check-in times can create an avoidable overnight on Mahé. Reserve ferries, Curieuse excursions and La Digue bicycles early during April–May, October–November and school-holiday periods, when demand across all three islands rises simultaneously.

First-hand advice

From our travel specialists

What our team sees when planning these trips for travellers, beyond what the guidebooks say.

  • The sources do not establish a single best base from firsthand Indian traveller reports. Mahé is the practical initial base because the international airport is there and it offers access to Victoria, Beau Vallon and Morne Seychellois National Park, while Praslin and La Digue are better added if time allows.

  • Travellers commonly wish they had budgeted for Seychelles being expensive: accommodation, meals, flights and activities can feel steep, and even takeaway food may cost more than expected. They also advise that the destination can feel slow or repetitive after several days, so it suits a short break or planned island-hopping better than an activity-packed holiday.

  • The available traveller report does not identify one specific beach, attraction or experience that consistently disappoints visitors. It instead reports general boredom after five days and suggests choosing a shorter stay or adding island-hopping rather than relying on one island alone.

  • The June–September southeast-trade-wind period is easy to underestimate: it is cooler and good for hiking, but rougher seas can make ferry and boat trips uncomfortable and bring seaweed to some beaches. December–March is warmer and more humid with rain, while April–May and October–November are more consistently recommended for calmer seas and water activities.

Straight answers on planning your Seychelles holiday, from timing to what a quote covers.

8 answered below
Still unsure?

Ask a specialist anything about Seychelles — there’s no obligation.

Ask a specialist
01Which Seychelles tour package is best for a honeymoon?

A 6–7 day Praslin and La Digue route suits honeymoons, with quieter beaches and a private sunset cruise option. Indicative land-only pricing starts around INR 1,35,000 per person for standard stays, twin sharing, excluding international airfare. Beachfront and private-pool villas sell out early in peak periods, so confirm dates before booking flights.

02How many days are enough for a Seychelles trip from India?

Five to seven days covers Mahé plus Praslin and La Digue at a comfortable pace. Three days is possible but rushed once flight times and ferry transfers are counted. A 7-day plan allows one Curieuse day excursion and still leaves beach time on each island without changing hotels more than twice.

03What is the best time to visit Seychelles from India?

April–May and October–November generally offer lighter winds, warm seas and favourable conditions for swimming, snorkelling and inter-island travel. January is wettest at 380 mm of rain, while July is driest at 65 mm but breezier, which affects snorkelling visibility on exposed coasts. Temperatures stay between 23°C and 31°C year-round.

04How much do Seychelles tour packages price at from India in 2026?

Indicative 2026 land-only pricing runs from about INR 85,000 per person for budget guesthouse travel to INR 1,35,000 for standard 4-star stays and INR 2,20,000 or more for premium travel, twin sharing and excluding international airfare. Luxury villa plans can reach about INR 4,50,000 per person. Confirm live quotations before booking.

05Is Seychelles visa-free for Indians?

Indians do not need a visa, but every traveller must obtain the Seychelles Electronic Travel Authorisation before departure through the official Seychelles Electronic Border System. Carry a passport valid for the stay, confirmed accommodation, a return or onward ticket and sufficient funds. A visitor permit is issued on arrival when entry conditions are met; approval is not guaranteed.

06Is Seychelles or Maldives better for an Indian family holiday?

Seychelles suits families wanting roads, hiking, wildlife and multiple islands, with Mahé as an easy base and Curieuse tortoises as a highlight. Maldives suits families prioritising a single resort with minimal transfers. Seychelles is usually more expensive than a resort-only beach holiday, and ferry crossings can be uncomfortable in rough seas.

07Which islands should I visit on a first Seychelles trip?

Mahé, Praslin and La Digue form the most practical first-trip combination, with Curieuse added as a day excursion from Praslin. Mahé handles arrival and Morne Seychellois trails, Praslin holds Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio, and La Digue is small enough to cross by bicycle. Adding a fourth island raises transfer costs and cuts beach time.

08What should a Seychelles holiday package include?

A typical seychelles holiday package includes hotel nights, inter-island ferry or domestic flight sectors, airport and jetty transfers, and selected excursions such as Vallée de Mai or Curieuse. Meal plans, premium ferry seats and private-pool villas are optional upgrades. International airfare, travel insurance and personal expenses are usually excluded and confirmed separately in your Tripstor quote.
